Ceramics courses, creative workshops for children and adults, themed workshops, one-off lessons and a spring half-term day camp. The Art Reformatory at Design Field steps into the new year and invites everyone who wants to create with their hands as well as their head. The offer is for children and adults alike – beginners and those who already have some experience with the material.
In the new year we're continuing our regular courses built around working with material. We're opening new runs of ceramics – both hand-building and wheel-throwing – as well as art and creative lessons for children, where making naturally meets learning about techniques, processes and artistic thinking. The courses take the form of regular sessions, though individual lessons or a one-off try-out can also be arranged.
The programme also includes specialised courses focused on particular techniques – for instance, more intensive ceramics work in a smaller group, or individual wheel-throwing with a tutor at your side. These formats leave room for concentration, slowing down and a deeper understanding of the material.
The offer is rounded out by themed workshops and short creative formats. Dotkni se hlíny is an intensive encounter with ceramics – the material and the process, from the first touch through to the finished form. The workshop is for adults who want to get to know ceramics in depth, or reacquaint themselves with it in a concentrated form.
Aimed at children is the workshop Kámen, nůžky, papír, teď, which brings together drawing, animation and comics and opens up space for telling stories through image. The Art Reformatory thus offers work not only with material, but with image, sequence and imagination too. The workshops are conceived as short, concentrated formats that can be taken on their own.
Spring half-term day camp
For the spring half-term we're also preparing the day camp Plné ruce fantazie. Children can look forward to creating in the studio, working with a range of materials, moving around outdoors and exploring the Design Field campus. The camp combines art-making with play, observation and sharing together.
