Design Harvest 2026
We're showing you a selection of the very best in industrial design from across Central Europe.
What connects a steering wheel from Mladá Boleslav and a bike rack from Malmö?
Answers are offered by the industrial exhibition Žně designu
A Škoda steering wheel, Bosch tools, cycling gear from the Swedish company Thule, and even a beer glass designed for Velké Popovice. The fourth edition of Žně designu presents products from twenty brands across several European countries in Bílovice. This year's exhibition opened as part of the WiFič VEN! festival and is now being adapted for longer-term operation. It reopens to the public on 24 September.
The exhibition places transport, tools, sports equipment, electronics, clothing, glass and household objects side by side — a reminder that industrial design is woven into the things people use every day. Škoda Auto brought a production RS steering wheel as well as one from a concept car, Bosch a cordless lawnmower and a measuring device, Thule a child trailer and bike racks. Also on show: the historic Merkur construction set, glasses from the OKULA and OPTIQA workshops, and the Oliver hydroponic system from the startup Groowia.

Past years
Žně designu carries forward, in spirit, the work of the Design Centre of the Czech Republic, which — under the leadership of Karel Kobosil — was dedicated to the systematic support of the field from 1991 to 2007. But this isn't just a historical legacy. The Design Centre's experience is a starting point for thinking about how to talk about industrial design today, how to bring it closer to the public, and how to connect the people who shape the field.
2026
Opening 28 August 2026 · part of WiFič VEN!
For the first time we're crossing borders — we'll present a selection of everyday products from across the Central European region. Alongside that, we're focusing on freshness: Žně designu will be a place where some solutions have their premiere.
The first edition with an international reach and a clear point of view.

2025
Opening 29 August 2025 · VIII edition of WiFič VEN! · open until 31 December 2025
The third instalment of Žně designu returns to the ideas of previous editions with the benefit of hindsight, offering them in a new context. Spread across both interior and exterior, the exhibition treats selected objects as examples of enduring principles: functionality, manufacturability, the integration of multiple functions into a single solution, and fitting aesthetics.
Rather than a one-off showcase, Žně designu 2025 focuses on continuity and durability. The exhibits aren't presented as trends, but as the results of considered development built to last — technically, in use, and environmentally. For the first time, we showed that it's possible to be more ambitious and put together a selection of the best new releases in the Central European region.

2021
3–8 September 2021 · IV edition of WiFič VEN!
The second instalment of Žně designu picked up the opening ideas and developed them further. Attention shifted from defining the concept of industrial design to its concrete forms in practice. The exhibition presented a broader range of projects — from small products to technically demanding solutions — and showed how design enters every stage of product development.
Collaboration became an important theme: between designers and manufacturers, between the local environment and the wider market, between aesthetics and technology. We stressed that design is not an isolated discipline, but part of a wider system of decision-making, manufacturing and responsibility.

2020
3–6 September 2020 · III edition of WiFič VEN!
The first Žně designu exhibition was born from the need to talk about industrial design as something more than shape and aesthetics. In the industrial setting of the Bílovice hall, we presented projects that showed design as a practical tool — a means of improving function, manufacturing and the long-term sustainability of products.
Part of the concept was also to show that quality design can emerge outside the big centres. We laid down the basic thinking behind the whole initiative: design as a process of seeking functional, meaningful and long-term sustainable solutions.
