Organising the Design Harvest exhibition and the outdoor gathering WiFič VEN!, plus publishing 519 magazine and collaborating on student competitions. But above all, the way he puts the real principles of industrial design into practice. "Radek Hegmon doesn't see design merely as shaping form, but as a practical solution whose realisation requires a whole team of people — from designers and technologists to design engineers, marketers and salespeople. In his view, industrial design also has a positive impact on the economy through products and services with high added value," the organisers list as the concrete reasons behind the award.

"Radek Hegmon has been devoted to the systematic support of product and industrial design under the auspices of his Egoé group. One of the activities that highlights the full complexity of design as a discipline is the industrial exhibition Design Harvest. It brings visibility to serial design, raises awareness of the quality of Czech designers and manufacturers, and inspires and connects individual creators. The product showcase is part of the outdoor festival WiFič VEN! The festival aims to show how and where industrial design comes into being. Alongside these events, he also publishes Magazín 519, dedicated to the subject of industrial design. He is actively involved in a number of student competitions, works with primary art schools, and proves that young people too can be creators of public space."
About the EY Entrepreneur of the Year competition
