The land reform of the first republic, post-war confiscations, the collectivisation that followed, and the righting of wrongs after the revolution. Constant shifts in the ownership of land have left hundreds of agricultural brownfields — former cooperatives and state farms — standing at the edge of villages and open countryside today.

The Bílovice campus is one of the rare exceptions where a new use has actually taken hold. If you're curious how these historical events left their mark on our field, visit the exhibition Z pole šafránu (From a Field of Saffron). You'll learn how the campus came to be, why it fell into disrepair, and how it was rescued from the weeds and nettles. On 7, 15 and 23 November you can join a guided tour, always starting at 17:00. Beyond that, the exhibition is open Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 16:00.
