Design Harvest continues – we'll be harvesting until the end of the year

Mapping the current landscape and raising awareness of the quality of designers and makers – that's the task of the Design Harvest project. This year it's been staged for the third time, once again at Design Field in Bílovice. The industrial exhibition offers a look at what maximum functionality, manufacturability, integration of new features and appropriate aesthetics look like in practice. It does so across dozens of products from different sectors. The exhibition opened during the August outdoor WiFič VEN! gathering and will remain open until the end of this year. There's also the option of a guided tour.

A space for those who aren't after shape, but solutions
Design Harvest set itself the task of mapping the current situation in the Czech Republic and beyond, and of raising awareness of the role and standard of designers and manufacturers. The exhibition ran on an occasional basis in 2020 and 2021. What unites all the products is an approach in which design is the result of teamwork between designers, technologists, engineers — and marketers and salespeople too.

“Design Harvest also creates a platform where manufacturers and institutions can meet. Our ambition is to bring the topic of industrial design back to the table. There's no systematic support for its development, and it still sits just below the public radar. In our view, that situation simply doesn't match the potential this field has to offer,” explains Richard Vodička on his motivation for running Design Harvest.
