How do you build on the tradition of Czechoslovak eyewear-making while still designing glasses for today? That's the subject of a talk with OKULA's sales director Martin Šůs and Michal Pavlát alongside Ondřej Vicena from studio Optiqa. The studio collects historical frames, studies their shapes and construction, and puts what it learns to use designing new collections for OKULA, based in Nýrsko. Michal Pavlát also hand-crafts glasses on old machinery, while Ondřej Vicena charts the history of Czechoslovak eyewear design.
