René Šulc is a product designer working on furniture, lighting, toys, medical devices and other industrially manufactured products. He studied design at UMPRUM in Prague, worked in Jiří Pelcl's studio during his studies, and has run his own studio, Inveno, since 2006. His designs have won numerous awards, including Nábytek roku (Furniture of the Year) and the ELLE International Design Award, and he has twice been nominated for the Czech Grand Design award. Alongside his own work, he heads Ateliér Šulc at the Faculty of Architecture, ČVUT, training the next generation of product designers. At Design Harvest he'll present a beer-tap stand designed for Staropramen and the ZOO building-set collection for Merkur.
